If your license is not renewed and moves to
canceled status, you will be required to pay one late fee and the renewal fee
for each year your license was lapsed and submit up to 60 hours of continuing
education. If you decide to reciprocate to another state, you need to reciprocate
off an original license. An original license is a license where you applied
to get your initial license and any state that you score transferred to. If
your Kansas license is an original license and you do not have an original license
in any other state, you should not let your Kansas license lapse. If you do
not plan to reciprocate your license ever again, then letting your license lapse
might be an option.
