Volunteer Services

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

-Mahatma Gandhi

Lansing Correctional Facility uses approximately 300 volunteers throughout the facility.  People can volunteer for educational purposes to help offenders with life skills, help with different religious studies, or for sports and athletic events, or you can even assist the staff with clerical duties.  Volunteers can come in weekly, bi-monthly or monthly.

Who can be a volunteer?

“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve.  You don’t have to have a college degree to serve.  You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve.  You only need a heart full of grace.  A soul generated by love.”

-Martin Luther King, Jr
