KSNO History

Kansas school nurses have provided active services since 1915.  First associated with Kansas State Nurses Association, included in the Public Health Section if KSNA.

April 1952 - School Nurse section was activated in KSNA.

August 1990 - Sponsered first annual conference for school nurses.

1994 - Hired a legislative liason who advocates for Kansas School nurses and keeps us
abreast of pertinent legislative issues dealing with school health.

1998 - Coopperated with Kansas Highway Patrol to create “Recognition and Evaluation of Substance Abuse in the Academic setting” inservice.

2000 - Created web site, established permanent address and toll free number.
