EFFECTIVE 2-8-2008   Assistant Funeral Directors License Applicants:  The regulations authorizing the written assistant funeral director examination went into effect on Friday, February 8, 2008.  All assistant funeral director applications for licensure received beginning February 8, 2008 will require passing a written examination--unless an apprentice funeral director application is filed at the time an assistant funeral director application is filed.  Assistant funeral director examinations will be scheduled on set dates during the first week of the month--with the filing deadline of the 15th of the month PRIOR to the examination date.  EXAMPLE:  Applicants wanting to be administered the test in May must have filed their applications and paid all fees ($150 application fee and $50 examination fee) with the board by no later than April 15th.  Once an applicant has passed the written examination and paid an initial prorated license fee, the assistant license will be issued.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
