Membership
Categories:
Executive or Professional
One of the following applies to you:
- You devote more than fifty
percent (50%) of your compensated working time to management of a voluntary
trade, professional, technical, educational, philanthropic or business
association or society. (Executive)
- You are employed by a professional
or trade association and manage all or part of one program or area.
(Professional)
- You are a Chief Staff Executive
of a Kansas Chamber of Commerce, Convention, or Visitor's Bureau. (Professional)
A professional member in good
standing may vote at annual and special meetings of the Society and may
hold elective and appointive office.

Executive and Professional Renewal Form
Inactive Professional
Any professional member in good standing upon separation from his or her
association, is eligible for inactive professional membership if he or
she has been a KSAE professional member for not less than five years.
Legislative Agent
Any person who is registered as a lobbyist with the Kansas Governmental
Ethics Commission and who is not eligible for KSAE membership as a professional
or associate member may apply for legislative agent membership. This catergory
includes participation in the Message/Communication Center in the Kansas
Statehouse during the legislative session.
Associate
One of the following applies to you:
- You devote 50% or less of
your time to the management of a voluntary trade, professional, technical,
educational, philanthropic, business association or society.
- You engage in association
management as an educator, governmental official, or executive of a
government agency deriving 50% of your income from public funds.
- You are a staff member of
a Kansas Chamber of Commerce, Convention, or Visitor's Bureau.
- Your business provides services
and products related to association management.
An associate member may serve
on all KSAE committees except Nominations. An associate member may not
vote at annual or special meetings of the Society. An associate member
may not hold elective office.
Honorary Membership
Any person who has performed distinguished service in or related to the
field of association management and who is not eligible for KSAE membership
as a professional or associate member, may be granted honorary membership
by the Board of Directors.
Student
You are not a permanent employee of an association, but are interested
in association management as a career, and are currently enrolled in an
educational program.
