FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Oct. 1, 2009 No. 09-108 KANSAS SPEEDWAY DONATES RACE TICKETS TO KANSAS NATIONAL GUARDIn support and honor of Kansas National Guard members and their service to their country, Kansas Speedway has donated approximately 3,000 tickets to the Guard for the upcoming NASCAR Nationwide Series Kansas Lottery 300 on Saturday, Oct. 3 and the Sprint Cup Series Price Chopper 400 on Sunday, Oct. 4. The tickets were distributed to Kansas National Guard personnel on a “first-come, first-served” basis. “Our men and women who serve at home and overseas work in a fast-paced environment and since there aren’t many things faster than NASCAR, this provides them and their families a great opportunity,” said Maj. Gen. Tod Bunting, the adjutant general. “We appreciate the generosity of Kansas Speedway and their ongoing support of our soldiers and airmen.” “The men and women of the military and their families are the reason we are able to race this weekend,” said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “I want to thank them for everything they do for our country and we look forward to hosting them this weekend.” In the past, Kansas Speedway has donated tickets to other race events and has allowed their facilities to be used for Kansas National Guard training events.
