FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 1, 2009 Kansas Guard members to participate in ceremony honoring WWII veteransWorld War II veterans will be honored during a 2 p.m. ceremony on Sunday, May 3 at Gage Park, 10th and Gage, Topeka, Kan. Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh, Mayor Bill Bunten and Brig. Gen. Deborah Rose, director, joint staff, Kansas National Guard, will speak during the ceremony. State Chaplain (Col.) Don Davidson will give the invocation and benediction. Additionally, the 35th Division Band will perform The National Anthem and America the Beautiful, and a 190th Air Refueling Wing KC-135 will perform a flyover.
