KANSAS SPEEDWAY DONATES TICKETS TO KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, commander in chief of the Kansas National Guard, will host a news conference in her office on Monday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m., to announce a donation of racing tickets to the Kansas National Guard.

Kansas Speedway and Camping World are donating 1,000 tickets to the NASCAR National Series racing event on Sept. 27 and 28 at the Kansas Speedway. Five hundred tickets will be provided for each day of the two-day event.

“The citizen-solders and airmen of the Kansas National Guard do so much for our state,” said Sebelius. “It’s wonderful when businesses and organizations show their support for their service and sacrifice.”

“We have a lot of NASCAR fans in the Kansas National Guard,” said Maj. Gen. Tod Bunting, the adjutant general. “I know our soldiers and airmen always appreciate such generous donations. They really have a good time at these events.”

“I’m honored to be able to make this presentation on behalf of Camping World,” said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “Both Kansas Speedway and Camping World understand the sacrifices the National Guard members and their families make on a daily basis which allows us to do what we love. In addition to seeing some great racing action, this will provide family time for the National Guard members and their families.”

Camping World is a nationwide retailer of RVs, camping equipment and other outdoor gear. Camping World also sponsors two Nationwide Racing Series vehicles and two Craftsman Truck Series racing vehicles.
