FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 22, 2008 No. 08-038 FOURTH ANNUAL FISHING TOURNAMENT TO HONOR FALLEN GUARDSMEN The Fourth Annual Veteran's Memorial Bass Tournament will be Saturday,
April 26, at Coffey County Lake, south of Wolf Creek Generating Station
near Burlington, Kan. on Highway 75. The tournament, sponsored by the 2nd Battalion, 130th Field Artillery
Family Support Group, is dedicated to the nine Kansas National Guard soldiers
who have died in action in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are Sgt. 1st Class
Clinton Wisdom, Sgt. Don Allen Clary, Sgt. Derrick Lutters, Sgt. Jessie
Davila, Sgt. 1st Class Bernard Deghand, Spc. John Wood, Sgt. 1st Class
David Berry, Sgt. Courtney Dean Finch and Sgt. 1st Class Travis Scott
Bachman. The idea for the tournament originated from Wisdom's love for
fishing. The boat-fishing bass tournament will begin at 6 a.m. with check-in and
pre-tournament announcements and will end at 12:30 p.m. with weigh-in.
There is no entry fee for the tournament. Prizes and trophies will be
awarded. Bratwurst, hamburgers and side dishes will be served at the end
