FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Aug. 23, 2007 No. 07-150 714th SECURITY FORCES RETURNING TO KANSAS AUG. 26 Approximately 150 Soldiers of the Kansas National Guards 714th
Security Forces will arrive in Topeka at Forbes Field on Sunday, Aug.
26. The soldiers will arrive at the Topeka Metropolitan Airport Authority
(Million Air) terminal at approximately noon and a short welcome home
ceremony will follow. The 714th Security Forces unit is based out of Topeka. The soldiers will be greeted by Brig. Gen. Jonathan Small, assistant
adjutant general Land Component, during a brief ceremony. The Guardsmen deployed in June 2006 for a year-long tour of duty in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where the unit conducted convoy security. The units soldiers come from all over the state, as well as from Nebraska, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Texas, Florida, Iowa and Arizona. -30- |
