Kansas
Army National
Guard (KSARNG) -
Motivated citizen-soldiers are highly trained in
a wide range of military functions, including armor,
aviation, field artillery, engineers, maintenance,
transportation, medical and other support to augment
U.S. Army operations.
Kansas
Air National
Guard (KSANG) -
Professional citizen-airmen provide in-flight
refueling, radar surveillance and control, weather,
medical, engineer, security, and other services
to support U.S. military operations around the
globe.
Kansas
Emergency
Management (KDEM) -
A small organization that provides direction and
coordination of local, state, and federal resources,
technical advice, and training to mitigate, prepare
for, respond to and recover from disasters in
Kansas.
The
Governor can expand those capabilities by calling
on the Kansas National Guard to respond throughout
the state during times of emergency such as tornadoes,
ice storms, floods, or civil disturbances when
the resources of our local communities are exceeded.

several statewide community

Readiness Training,
where soldiers and airmen work
projects in state parks and local communities
(e.g., construction, transportation, immunizations,
etc.)
that simultaneously provides
training in their federal mission
skills.
STARBASE,
a nationally
recognized math, science, and technology program
for 4th-6th
grade students.
Counter-Drug
Program provides
two distinct services: supporting
law enforcement across the state
