In June we put on the Prairie Lake Pickin' Party, our own festival featuring local and regional bands and plenty of pickin' around the festival grounds. The city has a small stage in some shade trees of this nice lake. We have our annual membership meeting there, and a band scramble to give pickers a chance to meet new people and do short stage performances. Simple camping (dry), partial shade, with a pit toilet and electricity available at most sites. Remember to bring your lawn chairs to watch the show!
Band Scramble: follows the KPPA Membership Meeting (see above). Band Scramble participants will take turns on stage from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Raffle: Dick and Bobbie Durow of Dick Durow Music and Rick Roberts of Kansas Guitar Shop, has donated a guitar and case for raffle.
Raffle: Bill & Pearl Tolle have donated a handmade quilt for a raffle. Proceeds will go to the Building Fund.
Retail Tables: The club charges $25 for groups or individuals to sell their wares. Check newsletter for details, or contact KPPA.
