the state. Before you drive any long distance to one, please call ahead. We
all try to stick to a schedule but things change. If you have one to list, please
- Auburn, Kansas Prairie Picker Association
jam, 4th Sunday of the month, October through April, Auburn Community
Center, 1-5 p.m., for info call Ron Meier at (785) 887-6314. The 2016/2017 schedule
is Oct 23, Nov 27, Jan 1, Jan 22, Feb 26, Mar 26, Apr 23.
- Lawrence, Kaw Valley Acoustic Music Assoc.
Jam at the Dillards, 1720 Troon Land, 7:00-9:30 p.m. Usually the second
Tuesday evening of the month. Contact John Dillard (785)865-5502.
- Lawrence, We gather for potluck at 6:15 every
Sunday night, and then play the old time fiddle tunes until 9:00. All acoustic
instruments are welcome. In the old time style everyone plays full blast all the
time. This is great for playing harmonies and counter-melodies, and for stealing
licks from the other players. We meet at various houses and businesses in the
Lawrence area. An email is sent out every Monday telling where the jam will be
held on the next Sunday. To get on the list, send your name and email to :
- Cottonwood Falls, Emma Chase Music Hall, has jams on
Friday nights, all month long. Different flavor each Friday: first Friday one is acoustic
second Friday is acoustic bluegrass & folk, third odd numbered months is rock & roll and
vintage country (amplifiers allowed), third even numbered month is acoustic country,

- Hoyt, The Kaw Valley Country Music Club meets
the first Sunday of each month at the Hoyt Community Center, which is located
at the north end of Highland Street in Hoyt from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Acoustic musicians
- Kansas City, HABOT (Heart of America
Bluegrass & Old Time Music Association) Meets 3rd Fri. night of month Oct-May,
6-10:45 p.m. at North Cross United Methodist Chruch, 1321 N.E. Vivion Road in

- Topeka, Acoustic Music Jam,first Saturday of each
month, 2-4 p.m. (no jams in June or July). The jam is held at Live Music Institute,

- Alma, Alma Library Acoustic Jam,on Skyline Drive
in downtown Alma, meets 1st Saturday of the month from 7:00-10:00 p.m. for info contact

January 1, 2017: KPPA New Year's Pot Luck and Band Scramble. Start eating at 1 p.m., doors
open around noon. Bring a main dish and a salad or desert. The Club provides paper plates,
cups, napkins and plastic ware, and coffee/tea. Enter name for band scramble noon to 1 p.m.,
with names drawn form groups at 1:30. Fun to follow.
February 17-18: 28th Annual Wichita Winter Bluegrass Festival. Bands to be announced.
