Homeland Security Training Program
The Department of Homeland Security/FEMA provides a wide variety of awareness and skills courses for all state and local first responders through the members of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC). NDPC courses are available free of charge. Courses can be delivered on-line, at the NDPC facility, or in Kansas. Each provider has individual application forms, but all applications should be sent to Paula Phillis at Kansas Emergency Management (2800 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66611; fax: 785-274-1914).

The Emergency Management Institute provides general emergency management training on-line and at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, MD.

Hazardous Materials courses are offered by Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute and Kansas Fire Marshall's Office.
