The Sedgwick County Appraiser`s
Office is accepting applications for a Commercial Valuation Specialist.
Responsibilities include communicating precise and effective information with
taxpayers, tax representatives and attorneys as well as testifying before the
Court of Tax Appeals. Preparation of Discovery Requests for property owners
and their attorneys which require great attention to detail and thorough
knowledge of appraisal principles and Cost, Income and Market Models. Ability
to evaluate and analyze all information provided by property owners, tax
representatives, fee appraisers and attorneys related to specific properties.
Ability to evaluate Cost, Income and Market Models. Developing of exhibits in
compliance with Standard 6 of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal
Practice (USPAP). Ability to thoroughly analyze subject properties. Ability
to physically inspect and understand a property and its attributes in
preparation for testimony at trial. Knowledge and understanding of the job
responsibilities of other Commercial Department employees. Preferred qualifications include Bachelor`s Degree from an accredited university with
coursework in business, economics, computer science or a related field. A
minimum of seven years as an Appraiser, three years experience working with
CAMA Modeling or any equivalent combination of training and experience which
provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies. Preferred
designations and certifications: CAE, MAI, SRA, RMA and/or general

After 28 years of faithful service, the
Geary County Appraiser is retiring. This leaves a void in our leadership team
in The Minimum Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of three years in
county appraisal and supervisory management experience is required. Must have
experience in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating KSCAMA
appraisal programs. Extensive knowledge of real and personal property
appraisal methods and techniques with extensive knowledge of the different
approaches to value and the methodology applicable to each approach. Education: High school diploma or GED
required. Must currently: (1) be a certified general real property appraiser
pursuant to K.S.A. 58-4101 et sec. or the equivalent thereof from another
State; (2) registered mass appraiser (RMA) pursuant to K.S.A. 19-420 and
19-432 and amendments thereto; (3) a valid residential evaluation specialist
or certified assessment evaluation designation from the Internal Association
of Assessing Officers (IAAO). Qualified candidates must be listed on the PVD
eligibility list. Must maintain a continuing educational program to meet
