Commercial Appraiser

The Butler County Appraiser`s Department is accepting applications for the following full-time position:

Commercial Appraiser -- Three years of experience in real estate appraising to include data collection and the real estate valuation process. One year of this experience must be within the State of Kansas CAMA system. High school diploma or GED required. The employee in this position must have successfully completed IAAO 1, IAAO 2 and IAAO 300 or its equivalent together with 90 hours of specialized appraisal courses sponsored by Property Valuation Division. A portion of the specialized appraisal courses must include the valuation theory and techniques of commercial/industrial property. This position requires successful completion of continual education courses sponsored by PVD to achieve and maintain the required job skills.

Pay Range - $36,917 - $49,649

Staff Appraiser ($14.65-$23.00)

Lyon County Appraisers Office is seeking applications for a full-time Appraiser I, Appraiser II, or Appraiser III position, level dependent on applicant’s qualifications. The position is responsible for the collection and analysis of data, and subsequent establishment of specific real property values in the county, and act as a hearing officer with property owners regarding the valuation of their property. Experience with the Legacy and/or Orion CAMA System is required. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently with the ability to speak a foreign language helpful. Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and pass drug/physical tests.
