Douglas County Appraiser

Douglas County is accepting applications for County Appraiser. Required qualifications include a bachelor`s degree, completed IAAO courses I & II (minimally), progressively responsible experience in real estate property appraisal and improvements, possession of one of the following designations: a "Certified General" Real Estate Appraiser License with the Kansas State Office of Real Estate Appraisers, C.A.E. and/or R.E.S. or R.M.A. through the property valuation department of the State of Kansas; knowledge of legal descriptions, the ability to produce consistently accurate appraisals, budget development experience, personnel management experience, and excellent public relations skills. Preferred candidates should possess knowledge of the `Orion CAMA` valuation system. Beginning salary range is $67,745 to $77,907 with excellent benefits. Sedgwick County Commercial Valuation Specialist

The Sedgwick County Appraiser`s Office is accepting applications for a Commercial Valuation Specialist. Responsibilities include communicating precise and effective information with taxpayers, tax representatives and attorneys as well as testifying before the Court of Tax Appeals. Preparation of Discovery Requests for property owners and their attorneys which require great attention to detail and thorough knowledge of appraisal principles and Cost, Income and Market Models. Ability to evaluate and analyze all information provided by property owners, tax representatives, fee appraisers and attorneys related to specific properties. Ability to evaluate Cost, Income and Market Models. Developing of exhibits in compliance with Standard 6 of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Ability to thoroughly analyze subject properties. Ability to physically inspect and understand a property and its attributes in preparation for testimony at trial. Knowledge and understanding of the job responsibilities of other Commercial Department employees.

 

Preferred qualifications include Bachelor`s Degree from an accredited university with coursework in business, economics, computer science or a related field. A minimum of seven years as an Appraiser, three years experience working with CAMA Modeling or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies. Preferred designations and certifications: CAE, MAI, SRA, RMA and/or general certification from the State of Kansas. Must have a vehicle to use on a daily basis and provide proof of valid vehicle insurance, valid vehicle registration and current Kansas Driver`s License.

 

SALARY: $38,042/year - $41,846/year

Geary County Appraiser

After 28 years of faithful service, the Geary County Appraiser is retiring. This leaves a void in our leadership team in Geary County, and you just might be the ideal person to fill that void!

 

Geary County is located between Salina and Topeka on I-70. We have a diverse population and unique attractions to our County to include Ft. Riley Military Installation and Milford Lake, the largest lake in Kansas! Geary County has a current population of 29,500 and is growing.

 

The County Appraiser is appointed by and accountable to a Board of three County Commissioners as well as the Property Valuation Division of the State of Kansas.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Experience: Minimum of three years in county appraisal and supervisory management experience is required. Must have experience in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating KSCAMA appraisal programs. Extensive knowledge of real and personal property appraisal methods and techniques with extensive knowledge of the different approaches to value and the methodology applicable to each approach.

 

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Must currently: (1) be a certified general real property appraiser pursuant to K.S.A. 58-4101 et sec. or the equivalent thereof from another State; (2) registered mass appraiser (RMA) pursuant to K.S.A. 19-420 and 19-432 and amendments thereto; (3) a valid residential evaluation specialist or certified assessment evaluation designation from the Internal Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). Qualified candidates must be listed on the PVD eligibility list. Must maintain a continuing educational program to meet state requirements.

Kiowa County Appraiser

Kiowa County is requesting applicants for the position of County Appraiser. Responsibilities are administrative and supervisory work in appraiser`s office, be responsible for annual valuation of all real and personal property, as well as field inspections, data collection, index/depreciation studies; valuation hearings; annual maintenance reports. CAE, RES, RMA or general certification from Kansas Real Estate Appraisal board is required along with high school diploma or equivalent.
