On November 21, 1997, at approximately 12:43 AM, the Brown County
Sheriff's Department received a 911 call from Shawn Bordeaux stating that
his wife, Jodie had been shot in the head.
Shawn Bordeaux stated that he and his wife were sitting in the
living room when they heard several loud pops. Initially it was
thought that a light bulb in the floor lamp behind the chair had exploded.
He saw dust and debris in the air all around him. Both Shawn and Jodie
fled the living room. After the shooting had stopped, he went to look
for Jodie and found her dead on the bedroom floor.
Bordeaux stated that he had not heard anything except two loud pops
initially. It was not until he was at his wife's side trying to stop
the bleeding that he heard a vehicle.
Numerous shell casings were found near the scene which correspond with
numerous bullet entry holes into the house.
